If you are struggling with feelings of self-hatred and condemnation because you did something you are deeply ashamed of, please know there is no sin too great or too small for God to forgive. He is merciful to all who come to him with a contrite spirit and sincere heart of repentance (Psalms 34:18). We have a guarantee that he forgives us of all failures and missteps when we confess them to him. No one is perfect, if anyone says they always get it right, they are lying to you and themselves. There is no need to walk in self-rejection and condemnation, embrace your Father’s love (John 3:16-18).
God loves you unconditionally, like an excellent earthly father who loves his children through the good the bad and the ugly (Luke 15:11-32). There is nothing we can do to change that. When the devil whispers in your ear you are at the point of no return, or bombards you with self-destructive hateful thoughts, do not accept it! He is the father of lies (John 8:44). Remind yourself, salvation through Christ is a gift, there is nothing we can do to earn it (Ephesians 2:8 & 9). God loves you so much he will rebuke the enemy from condemning you and restore you to wholeness (Zechariah 3:1-4; 1 John 1:9).
Hold on to His unconditional love for you and forgive yourself. When the enemy reminds you of your past, remind him of his future (Revelation 20:10). Stand on the Word declaring, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). Tell yourself, “God loves me with an everlasting love and there is nothing anyone can do about it (Jeremiah 31:3). You are Victorious in Christ!

Oftentimes, we need to remind the enemy of his future daily. Never take off our armor!
